Prime Minister's Private Sector Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman on Saturday said the government has planned to build a high-tech park at a cost of Tk130 crore in Nawabganj, outskirts of the capital.
"A plan has been taken to build a high-tech park at a cost of Tk130 crore and Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center at a cost of Tk78 crore in Nawabganj of Dhaka district," he said.
Salman came up with the remarks while addressing a view exchange meeting with ICT entrepreneurs of Nawabganj and Dohar upazilas and inaugural function of the connectivity of 22 unions at Nawabganj Upazila Parishad auditorium.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak addressed the function as the guest of honor while Additional Secretary of ICT Division Managing Director of Bangladesh High-Tech Park Authority Bikarna Kumar Ghosh addressed the special guest. Dhaka Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Shahidul Islam presided over the function.
Through launching the connectivity, the 22 unions of Nawabganj and Dohar upazila have been brought under broadband internet.

Noting that the per capita income has now stood at $2,227 which was $450 in 2009, he emphasized on collective effort to keep the ongoing development continue.
Speaking on the occasion, Palak said it has been possible to establish the country as a digital one due to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's honesty, courage and foresight.
Noting that the development gap between urban and rural areas has decreased, he said the daily life of the people is now being technology based.
Earlier, they visited the designated site for the high-tech part and Sheikh Kamal IT Park.
Besides, Salman F Rahman and Zunaid Ahmed Palak laid the foundation stone of a Technical School and College at Jantrail Union of Nawabganj upazila and inaugurated the newly built building of Nawabganj Government Primary School and the dormitory of Dohar Upazila administration.
